Brother Neal's Computer Science Department at BMHS has always been forward-looking, from the IBM punch card days to the BASIC programming period, to the present. Now, Craig Zeller ('02) teaches a "Digital Graphics" class that sounds like something I'd love to go audit. This is a video some of his students made for the school's Open House last week:
The recording of the fight song was made in the Taverna Band Room a few years back. Good recording!

If you're into history and photography (as in looking through old photos, not so much taking them), Arcadia Publishing's books are a great way to become a non-fiction author. They publish several series of photo-collection books, with the Images of America series being the largest. My book, New Orleans: The Canal Streetcar Line, published in 2004 was my first with Arcadia, and I just wrapped up Brothers of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans and sent it off to my editor this week.
Here's a rough flowchart of how the books came into being.

| Subject: | Switched to Drupal |
I've decided to switch ebranley.com to Drupal. The main reason I've made this move is twofold: First, Drupal is open source and development of modules for the platform is picking up. Second, since I don't do web development for a living, I've gone as far with MovebleType as I can go, and now it's time to explore a different platform in-depth.

| Subject: | Drupal Scheduling Module |
this is an important feature to me. I'm very erratic in terms of writing. If I'm in a mood, I can knock out a bunch of stuff, and it would be cool to schedule that for publication over a few days. Let's see if this shows up by the time I get coffee in the morning.
